Grandfather sleeps well tonight. Though only a day ago he was slain by one the elemental kin that have been attacking us. He is unphased by his journey to the afterlife and back, and that we now call this metal cave home. If only I could sleep so well.
I was able to bring in some loose earth to soften the metal floor, but it can still feel the cold stillness. The air itself if comfortable. Naderia said something about “adjusting the thermostat” to fit my need after touching a part of the wall new the door. I think a good hunt is needed. Not only to get some decent food on this “ship” but to also add some warmth to my room.
It seems our walkabout has a purpose. The plains are colliding and being consumed and Great Spirits have called upon Grandfather and myself, along with the others, to restore balance. It is good to have purpose again. Though I still miss the simplicity of the Tribe. Grandfather says it is only simple since we have seen so much more. Life is never simple where we are currently standing, only when looking back to when we did not know what we know today.
As for my other companions. Alistar has taken on a gnome like inquisitiveness to understand everything there is about this cave called the Firtinarayan. Rakis has found his place by the fireless forge. Though there is one constant, Malik and Sameena are still fighting. Grandfather says there are times he misses my mother, but then looks at them and thinks everything is pretty good here.
