The Base

The Base

Overview

The base is made up of:

  • 7 link rooms
    • Permanent link active: Fıtınarayan
    • Temporary link active: Forest World, unknown name
      • //ERROR// SEVERE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE //ERROR//
  • 1 control room
  • 1 reactor room
  • 1 sleeping chamber

The control room is located directly opposite the Ship link and contains all the equipment necessary for scanning the multiverse, assessing viability and creating links to established anchor points.

Link Creation

  • A link room can only connect to an anchor point
  • Only one link can be formed with a particular plane at any one time
  • A link takes 10 minutes to form
  • A link can be disabled at any time and happens instantaneously
  • A link takes time to realign after an active link is disabled
    • 1 day to realign to an anchor point on the same plane
    • 2 days to realign to an anchor point on a related plane
    • 5 days to realign to a different plane
    • The same link can be disabled and reenabled with an interval of approximately 5 days.

Anchor Creation

  • Requires 50 goods, 12 magic, and a special component created by the Firitnarayan
  • Preconstructed buildings and some natural formations (caves, rock arches) may provide some of the cost in goods
  • Build time is 10 days reduced by 1 day for every 5 points of goods provided by a building or natural formation (minimum 1 day)
  • Anchor points cannot be placed within 400 miles of one another
  • Anchor points can be created by anyone with the special components knowledge of how to install.

Exploration

Anyone may spend time working with the controls to try and find a new plane to investigate. You spend one day of downtime and make a check, Knowledge: Planes or Engineering with a DC 25. Success may mean discovering:

  • A new prime plane
  • A related plane (elemental, outer, etc)
  • A free demiplane
  • One of the 38 Prime Reference Points
  • An existing anchor

Recreating the Base Charts

Similar to exploring, anyone may spend time working with the controls to try and find the anchors and chart references lost in the previous assault on the base. You spend one day of downtime and make a check, Knowledge: Planes or Engineering with a DC 35. Success may mean discovering:

  • One of the 38 Prime Reference Points
  • An existing anchor
  • An other, specific plane

Assistance

Bonuses to the success of the attempt, as well as what the specific result is, can be gained from several sources:

  • Knowledge gained from researching planes in the Firtinarayan Library
  • Assistance from trained aides
  • Known Prime Reference Points related to the plane
